Have you plugged a kick trigger pedal into your electric drum set only to learn the difference between triggers and switches?  The Alesis Performance Pad has 1/4" inputs for hi-hat and kick pedals, but they aren't velocity sensitive.  When I plugged the Yamaha KU100 beaterless silent kick unit into my drum pad the silence was no joke, nothing happened, not a peep. So....

I opened it up...

Cut channels for a 1/4" female adapter...

Soldered it in place to the piezo for the kick drum pad...

Tied a knot in it for good measure, screwed it all back together, plugged the trigger into the new adapter, and it works!!
